Crucifer of Blood at the Ahmanson Theatre, Los Angeles, with
Jeremy Brett as Watson. It ran from 5 December 1980 to 17
January 1981.A decade later he reprised the role in a TV movie

Anthony Higgins – Played Holmes in the stage play The
White Glove by Richard Maher and Roger Michell at the Lyric
Theatre, Hammersmith, from 21 April to 21 May 1983; and
again in the 1993 TV movie 1994 Baker Street: Sherlock Holmes
Returns.
Carleton Hobbs – English character actor who was the voice
of Sherlock Holmes on BBC radio from 1944 to 1969. He did
three BBC Home Service series of Sherlock Holmes Stories for
Children’s Hour (1952–7), and then seven Sherlock Holmes
series for the Light Programme (1959–69), of which series five
was called Sherlock Holmes Returns, and six was Sherlock Holmes
Again. He also appeared in over a dozen one-off adaptations on
the Home Service and Light Programme, including the Gillette
play in 1953. His Watson was almost invariably Norman
Shelley.
