SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION AND ARREST
On December 13, 2013 the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department received a report of a sexual assault that occurred inside the Stetson Middle School located in the 1000 block of Wilmington Pike in Westtown Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
The 28 year old female victim, an employee of the West Chester Area School District, reported to police that while working in the school on December 12, 2013 she was attacked and sexually assaulted by a male employee at the school. The female victim reported that she was attacked in a small office within the school at approximately 10:00 PM. At the time of this incident the Stetson Middle School was closed and no students were inside the building.
The victim was treated and released from the Chester County Hospital.
As a result of the investigation by the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department, Detectives arrested and charged Steven Warren Wesley Sr, age 49, of the 100 block of South Worthington Street, West Chester, PA with Rape, Sexual Assault, Aggravated Indecent Sexual Assault, Indecent Assault and False Imprisonment. Steven Warren Wesley Sr. has worked as a Custodian for the West Chester Area School District for more than 17 years.
Steven Warren Wesley Sr. appeared before Magisterial District Judge William Kraut for arraignment and bail was set at $500,000.00 dollars. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for December 17, 2013 at 9:00 AM at District Court 15-2-03. Steven Warren Wesley Sr. was sent to Chester County Prison after failing to post bail.
Throughout this investigation the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department worked closely with the West Chester Area School District Administration and the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.
