7. VIDEOCONFERENCE
Task 1: Answer the questions

1Which method of communicating do you prefer: face-to-face, by video or by telephone?

1According to my experience, there is also some correlation with age. If we are talking about customer support channels, older people usually prefer face-to-face or phone support. Young people like chatting more than sending e-mails or calling by phone. It's instant unlike e-mail and allows them to do many things at once, unlike phone or face-toface talk

2 Look at the photo. Have you ever used a video conferencing set up? If so, describe the situation

2 Video conferencing is live, visual connection between two or more remote parties over the internet that simulates a face-to-face meeting. Video conferencing is important because it joins people who would not normally be able to form a face-to-face connection.

At its simplest, video conferencing provides transmission of static images and text between two locations. At its most sophisticated, it provides transmission of full-motion video images and high-quality audio between multiple locations.

In the business world, desktop video conferencing is a core component of unified communications platforms that also include calling and messaging capabilities. Standalone on-premises and cloud-based video conferencing platforms are also available from numerous vendors who support desktop-and room-based video, as well as the ability to embed video conferencing into business applications, such as Telehealth, customer service and distance learning.

The widespread availability of cloud-based services enables organizations to implement video conferencing with minimal upfront investment and to take advantage of rapidly emerging AI-powered features to improve audio and video performance.

.3 What do you think are the advantages of video conferencing over face-to-face?

3 Major advancements in technology have drastically changed how and where we conduct business with more people working remotely, the rise of instant, on-demand communications and the globalization of businesses. For modern and innovative businesses to grow and globalize, building and maintaining quality relationships with partners, suppliers, internal teams, investors and customers is essential. Video conferencing boosts productivity, saves time, reduces travel expenses, and overall promotes collaboration. The advantage of video conferencing is the ability to facilitate all of those benefits without requiring constant travel for face-to-face communication.

Parliament - (English: parliament, French: parlement) is one of the organs of state power of the state. Parliament is a representative body, whose members are elected by the people and whose interests are represented in Parliament. Parliament exercises legislative power, that is, it has the exclusive right to pass state laws. Parliament participates in the formulation and implementation of domestic and foreign policy of the state, approves the state budget, determines the tax base of the state and the types of national taxes and levies. Parliament participates in the formation of other state bodies and appoints the highest officials of the state, either by itself or in consultation with the relevant candidates. The parliament exercises parliamentary control over the implementation of state laws and the activities of the executive branch, as well as the approval of new laws. Parliament serves as a body that unites different strata and groups of the population, the regions of the state.

The parliament is unicameral or bicameral (in rare cases, there may be more chambers). In a bicameral parliament, one of the chambers is represented by the people. Its deputies are elected by territorial constituencies. The territory of the state is divided into such constituencies (majoritarian electoral system) or proportional (proportional) electoral system, ie lists proposed by political parties and movements, or a mixed system.

The second of the chambers is represented by parts of the state. The members of this chamber are elected by the people of the respective territories, by the legislatures of the regions, or by the heads of the legislative and executive branches of the regions, or they are appointed by the executive authorities of the regions.

In a bicameral parliament, the principle of equality and concurrence of the chamber is rarely used, often referred to as the independent upper and lower houses, where the legislative process begins in the lower house and is passed to the upper house for consideration and approval. Parliaments work in the form of sessions. Sessions consist of plenary sessions or trade union sessions, the work of parliamentary committees, commissions, factions and groups, parliamentary hearings and other events. Some members of parliament work only in sessions, while others resign from their previous positions and move to parliament for permanent employment. In addition to adopting the laws of the state, the parliament also adopts resolutions, statements, declarations, petitions, resolutions and other documents. The rules of procedure of the parliament (regulations of the parliaments) are the main document regulating the formation of the parliament. There may also be laws on parliament, the status of deputies (members), its committees and commissions, and other documents.
