Today, the issue of education, the formation of a strong civic position and protection from various
alien ideas remains relevant.
In order to educate young people spiritually, comprehensively mature and intellectually, it is
necessary to popularize reading and strengthen the love for books.
From ancient times the reading of books has played an important and integral role in the education
of the individual, revealing his individual characteristics, as well as an important factor in its formation.
In this context, in the modern world, book reading should first and foremost take a special place in the
system of continuing education, including in everyone’s daily activities.
Uzbekistan pays serious attention to this issue, bringing it to the level of state policy. In March
2019, the President of Uzbekistan put forward five initiatives aimed at creating additional conditions
for the education and training of youth, increasing women’s employment.
The five most important initiatives for the organization of social, spiritual and educational work on
the basis of the new system are as follows. The first is to increase young people’s interest in music,
painting, literature, theater and other arts, which will help them realize their talents. The second is the
physical condition of young people, creating the necessary conditions for them to demonstrate their
abilities in sports. The third is to organize the effective use of computer technology and the Internet
by the population and youth. The fourth is the organization of systematic work to raise the morale of
young people, the widespread promotion of reading. Fifth is the employment of women [1].
As we can see, the fourth initiative is aimed at raising the morale of young people, the widespread
promotion of reading. The head of our state stressed the need to awaken in young people a love for
books from childhood, independent thinking and the formation of a broad outlook, which, in his
opinion, will be a solid foundation in their way of life.
As part of the fourth initiative, a number of measures have been taken to raise the culture of the
population, especially young people, and to promote reading [2].
Modern society is in the postindustrial stage of development, which is characterized by a new
information space and is characterized by the strong development of audiovisual media. These trends,
in turn, have a significant impact on the reading process: on the one hand, they distance people from
reading, on the other - they allow them to get information with different thoughts.
Unfortunately, in such conditions, the level of interest in reading among young people is significantly
declining, and reading literature is perceived by many as a mandatory, unpleasant activity. Hence, one
of the most urgent and urgent tasks remains the question of consciously restoring interest in reading.
The system of shaping the ability to read must, of course, be flexible and appropriate to the writer’s
artistic style [3].
Recognizing that the way in which young people are involved in reading or how they are put into
practice is closely linked to measures to create the appropriate conditions, they should be considered
in conjunction with methods of development. As such, it was possible to propose the implementation
of various projects, which is one of the important tasks of local authorities, for example, the creation of
mini-libraries in each neighborhood, taking into account the interests of local people, consulting with
new readers. organization and activation of consulting work, holding various competitions among
