Today, agricultural products of the Republic of Uzbekistan are increasingly competing in foreign 
markets with products of other countries subsidized by their governments.
The possibility of joining the European Union could lead to increased competition with similar 
products in the domestic market of Uzbekistan. At the same time, subsidies used by other countries 
in Uzbekistan are not fully used. In this regard, it is important to analyze the support provided to 
agricultural producers in Uzbekistan in terms of forms of state support applied in other countries, 
which are competitors of agricultural products in the markets.
In recent years, the state in the Republic of Uzbekistan pays great attention to the development 
of agriculture. Active measures are being taken to reduce the loss of water resources and prevent 
erosion and degradation of agricultural lands. In the absence of opportunities to increase agricultural 
land, efforts are being made to move from an extensive model of further agricultural development 
to an intensive model, which will enable agricultural producers to rely on the state, primarily 
financial resources and the entire production chain is to create conditions to reduce costs. Currently, 
Uzbekistan is allocating funds for the introduction of drip irrigation technology and irrigation 
including by the state support measures are being taken by equipment, construction of wells for 
drilling water and installation of pumping stations, compensation for loan repayments, 
In particular, for cotton and wheat producers, the state provides subsidies for production resources 
(fuels and lubricants, seeds, fertilizers, plant protection products, etc.). Subsidies in the amount of 
8 million soums were allocated for producers of raw cotton, who introduced the technology of drip 
irrigation.
It should be noted that currently Uzbekistan is not a member of any international agreements or 
associations that restrict the use of state support measures in the agricultural sector. At the same 
time, the republic does not fully implement the subsidies for agricultural products used in other 
countries.
Under the “Young Entrepreneur” program, it is advisable to cover the costs (up to 50%) from the 
budget and introduce measures to subsidize the opening of enterprises and start-up projects by young 
entrepreneurs in rural areas.
It is necessary to increase the amount of state funding for the purchase of agricultural machinery 
and equipment, noting the difference in the cost of domestic and imported agricultural machinery.
International experience shows that other countries actively and extensively subsidize agricultural
