Building a brand of the country and creating its positive image is the strongest tool for
increasing the attractiveness of the goods of the producing country, as the brand contributes to
high profits and ensures the long-term development of the country. One of the main features of a
brand is the presence of a stable large number of loyal consumers. Therefore, a branded country
not only attracts tourists, its national business and products receive strong competitive support.
In this regard, for Kazakhstan, the priority is to intensify work on the formation of a positive
tourist image of the country.
Creating a positive image and brand of the country is a necessary condition for the
successful integration of the state into the world community [5].
But, unfortunately, today the image of Kazakhstan does not correspond to the new
prevailing realities and, therefore, does not have the desired effect on a significant flow of
foreign tourists.
At present, the formation of the country branding of Kazakhstan in the eyes of the foreign
public is associated with certain difficulties, which include the following.
It should be noted that every year Kazakhstan becomes more and more recognizable for new
tourists from countries that generate the main tourist flows to the republic. Here, the role of the
annual Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair - KITF in Almaty, included in the calendar of
events of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), as well as the annual International
Tourism Exhibition «Astana Leisure», the main task of which is to attract tourist flow to the
central and northern regions of the country and form the image of the capital - Astana, as a city
of the III millennium. The holding of such events makes a significant contribution to the
establishment of partnerships between all participants in the tourism market and has real
prospects for becoming the largest tourism forum in the Central Asian region.
It is also important to note that participation in international tourism exhibitions is the main
event aimed at shaping and strengthening the tourism image of Kazakhstan, promoting the
domestic tourism product on the world market and increasing the flow of foreign tourists to the
country. In addition, international tourism exhibitions are a real mechanism to assist Kazakhstani
tourism organizations in creating favorable conditions for establishing partnerships and
concluding mutually beneficial contracts.
