Aim of study subject –

To identify and analyze major trends, defining factors and features in history of international relations and diplomacy
|
Tasks of study program –
|
To identify the important historical developments in the domain of international relations and diplomacy; to analyze the major actors and factors; to apply the “historical lessons” to contemporary situation

Content of study subject –
|
1. Approaches to history of international relations and diplomacy
2. Interwar period
3. Second World War and its consequences
4. International relations during the Cold War
5. Post-Cold War period: return to the past?
6. Etnic conflicts in the context of international relatiosn history
7. Historical interpretations and foreign policy
|
Tests in study subject –
|
All students must to take part in the lessons, seminaries and the final exam, as to submit reports and presentations.

To identify trends and authors in geopolitical thinking; to criticize and assess the geopolitical approaches, concepts and their applicability to the analysis of the contemporary international developments

4. German approach to geopolitics
5. Soviet and Russian geopolitical science
