Requirements

Sociolinguistic competence
Ability to choose appropriate linguistic form, way of expression depending on the conditions of the communicative situation, communicative goal and speaker’s intention, social and functional roles of communicants, their interrelations based on the content of speech at the intermediate level of learning.
Discourse competence			Recognize and interpret characteristics of authentic discourses according to their genre specificity (academic texts, instructions, newspaper/magazine articles, extracts, quotations from literary texts, poems, songs and etc.) within the framework of communicative settings based on the content of speech at the intermediate level of learning.
