Clicking on this button launches the photo editor 
(i.e., Photoshop). The selected texture will appear in the external program. You can then 
adjust the texture image in the editing application. Saving it will automatically update the 
image in SketchUp. See Chapter 10. 
Scaling*
SketchUp allows you to scale the size of a texture image. Scaling affects the 
way the texture image displays on applied faces. The larger the scale, the bigger the image 
becomes. Conversely, the smaller the scale, the smaller the image appears (Fig. 8.20). Image 
scale is measured in the same units in which the model is set (imperial or metric). Texture 
images are scaled proportionally; adjusting the horizontal scale will automatically adjust 
the vertical scale and vice versa. This proportional scaling can be turned off by clicking on 
the Link button next to the scale values.
Most if not all textures used in your models will need to be scaled using this option (Fig. 8.21).

Colorize
Some textures are composed of multiple color grains and, once they are edited, 
can take on a disharmonious composition of pixilated colors. For example, an adjusted 
grass texture might have flecks of magenta and blue. These flecks can become distracting 
and ruin the material’s appearance. Colorize causes the dominant color, in this case the 
lawn’s green tones, to replace the other color flecks. The best way to use this tool is through 
experimentation and observing the results.
