Solid Color to Surfaces
The following figures illustrate the process of adding solid colors to the model 2D faces prior 
to extruding forms (Fig. 33.7, Fig. 33.8, Fig. 33.9). The solid colors will coat the extruded faces, 
allowing an efficient workflow.

All base modeling is done with 
Layer 0 as the active layer. Layer 0 is always 
set to the default when you first start a 
SketchUp model. If you’re working with 
imported information from CAD programs 
or an image, make sure that Layer 0 is active 
when you draft SketchUp edges and faces.

to all surfaces. Solid col-

For every texture intended 
for the model, add a corre-

ors will be swapped with 
texture images.

Base Model extrusion
The following figures show how the model base is extruded (Fig. 33.10, Fig. 33.11, Fig. 33.12). 
The applied solid colors will coat the extruded faces.
