Place your light sources inside light fixtures. Place the light source as if you were inserting
or screwing a bulb into the fixture. For open fixtures, this process can be simple. As with
a lamp with a shade, the lamp provides simple access so that you can place the point

light. For enclosed fixtures, this procedure can be tricky but you can complete it as follows 
(Fig. 24.35):
1. 
Make the outsides of enclosed fixtures into components.
2. 
Next, hide the component. Select the component, right-click over it, and select Hide. The 
fixture encasement will now be invisible.
3. 
Make sure that View

Hidden Geometry is not checked. Place the desired light into the 
center of where the fixture will be located when visible.
4. 
Go to View 
F
Hidden Geometry and turn on the hidden geometry. The fixture will be 
visible again.

Select the dashed lines representing the hidden fixture, right-click over the fixture and 
select Unhide (Fig. 24.36). Make sure the fixture has transparent materials, which will 
allow the light to pass through the surface.
