For example, doing a search for “concrete” yields more than 36 pages of results comprised of 
different concrete image sets. Each set contains at least one but usually multiple images. Click-
ing on a set will launch a new browser window displaying the images part of that collection. 
For most, but not all, images in a set, there will be three size options: small, medium, and 
large. Some images will have limited sizes, typically small and medium. Once you have the 
results displayed and are ready to download a texture, follow these steps:
1. 
Download small image sizes. As indicated, for most textures you only need the small 
size versions.
2. 
Download multiple versions. If the texture has multiple versions, download the varia-
tions to give yourself more flexibility
. 
3. 
Save the file to your Texture Library in the correct category.
CG Textures.com and similar websites frown upon downloading whole sets in a single sit-
ting, and they ask that you not do it. Site administrators will suspect that such downloads are 
being used for resale or being posted on other sites. It is never okay to share or repost down-
loaded textures. 
You won’t always find the texture you need at CG Textures.com. Before giving up, though, 
try searching with different search terms. Something will likely appear. If you can’t find what 
you need, explore other texture sites; see John Pacyga’s blog and search the various links men-
tioned previously.

Chapter 7: The Texture Library 
Linking the Texture Library
To insert and swap textures with ease, you will want to link your Texture Library to SketchUp’s 
Paint Bucket file browser and texture options. Doing this allows for a simple and easy workflow 
when applying and editing textures. Swapping textures to a linked Texture Library is reviewed 
in Chapter 8 and Chapter 9. Please note, this process differs for Mac’s. See the next chapter 
about Mac Texture tools.
