profile Builder
Profile Builder, available at Smustard.com, is best described as the Follow Me tool on steroids 
(Fig. 16.32). The tool has multiple options.

Here are the basic steps to use the Profile Builder:
1. 
Create a 2D outline of a shape to be extruded—for example, crown molding, building 
columns, articulated and rounded edges, building parapets, complex furnishings, or any 
form or object to be extruded along a path. The surface can be any shape but it must be a 
single, selectable surface. It cannot have edges subdividing its parts (Fig. 16.33).

2. 
Select the surface and click the Create a New Profile button. Give the profile a name 
(Fig. 16.34).
3. 
Use the pull-down menu to the right and a red dot on the profile to adjust the Placement 
Point. This will indicate how the profile is placed on selected edges (Fig. 16.35). You may 
need to take several tries to get this correct once you apply the profile.
