DynaSCAPE Sketch3D DynaSCAPE software (

) is the maker of a 
2D Cad drafting program for residential and site design. Sketch3D is a collection of over 1,000 
plant components specific for SketchUp (Fig. 13.24). 
Although Sketch3D is pricey, there is no daily limit to the number of components you can 
download. Part of your subscription to Sketch3D includes access to custom SketchUp textures 
related to site and exterior spaces. Also included is access to a custom CAD clean-up Ruby 
Script. 
All of Sketch 3D’s site amenities, structures, and furnishings are great for rendering. In 
particular, the vines and trellis structures stand out as unique. It is harder to indicate which 
plants are useful for rendering from the Sketch3D collection. You will need to experiment

with the plant types and see what works well for you. One excellent quality is that many of the 
2D FaceMe shrubs and some of the 2D FaceMe trees are perfect for photorealistic rendering. 
The Sketch3D components are optimized for SketchUp. The 3D plants are well constructed 
and possess minimum geometry. You can populate your model with many of the 3D plants and 
without dramatically affecting your computer’s performance. (However, optimized compo-
nents are no substitute for a well-organized model, as described in the Chapter 14.)

Vegetation
Sketch3D offers a huge assortment of specific plants ranging from grasses, perennials, annuals, 
vines, shrubs, and deciduous trees to evergreen trees and more. The plants are listed by both 
their common and Latin names (Fig. 13.25, Fig. 13.26, Fig. 13.27, Fig. 13.28).
