Move Contents to Active Layer: The contents of a deleted layer will be moved to the 
active layer. Use this option when you want to merge layers into a single layer.

Delete Contents: The layer and its contents will be removed from the model. Use this 
option with extreme caution. Use it only when you want to delete objects from a model 
and are certain that all the associated geometry is located on the layer to be deleted. 
Remember that geometry composing objects might be located on multiple layers; using 
this option when some geometry is located on a different layer can ruin a model. 
entity Info and Layers
Entity Info is used in tandem with layers to keep a model organized. It displays properties of 
selected components, groups, and geometry and allows components to be moved to different 
layers. Entity Info can be opened from Window

Entity Info or by right-clicking on a selected 
object and choosing it from the top of the context menu.
When you select an object and open Entity Info, the Layer menu in the Entity Info box will 
display the layer on which the object is nested (Fig. 12.13). If multiple objects that share the same 
layer are selected, the layer name will be displayed. If multiple objects are selected that are on 
different layers, the layer box will appear blank because it can display only one layer at a time. 
Clicking on the arrow next to Layer in Entity Info displays a drop-down menu listing all of 
the layers in the model. When objects are selected and a layer is selected from the pull-down 
menu, all of the selected objects will be moved onto the selected layer (Fig. 12.14). This works 
even if the objects are on different layers.
