If you want to set changes you’ve made using the pins, press the Enter key. This will also 
deactivate the Texture Context tool. If you do not want to apply any changes, simply press the 
Esc key at any time. 
red pin–Move*
The red pin sets the “center point” of the texture for editing. When 
using the green pin Rotate function, the red pin will act as the center axis of rotation
of the texture. To use it effectively, center the red pin on your screen, place the green
pin in close proximity, and zoom in. This will give you more control over the texture 
rotation. 
Green pin–rotate and Scale*
Holding down the green pin causes a protractor to appear 
at the center of the red pin. Moving the mouse will cause the texture to rotate, scale, or 
both (Fig. 8.32). Using the tool requires some finesse and patience. You can rotate the tex-
ture without scaling, and you can rotate a texture using the increments on the protractor 
(Fig. 8.33). It takes slow, steady mouse motions. Generally, moving the mouse left or right 
will cause the texture to scale (Fig. 8.34); moving the mouse in wide arcs will cause it to 
rotate. Placing the red and green pins in close proximity, as previously mentioned, helps 
provide greater control.
