Wire Frame
This style turns off all model faces. Only the edges and lines that compose the 
model are visible.
hidden Line
The Hidden Line style turns all colors and textures in the model to white. 
Shaded*
Shaded turns off all texture images (texture maps) in the model. Any applied 
textures will appear as solid colors (Fig. 8.25). The color displayed is the boldest or stron-
gest tone of the texture.

Chapter 8: The SketchUp Texture Tools
This is an important setting to use when modeling with textured models because SketchUp 
does not need to process the texture maps on surfaces. Using this style will dramatically 
increase performance while still providing a clear view of what the model looks like. Use 
this as the default Styles option and turn on Shaded with Textures only when applying and 
assessing model textures. 
Shaded with Texture*
As the name implies, the texture maps of the applied textures in 
the model are displayed (Fig. 8.26). For slower (and even faster computers), this can cause 
SketchUp to run slowly as SketchUp needs to regenerate the display every time you orbit, 
pan, zoom, or otherwise work in the model. Turn on this style when you want to review 
how textures appear in the model.

Monochrome
The Monochrome style reverts all faces to SketchUp’s default face style. 
This allows you to assess which faces are Front or Back in your model, which is important 
for some rendering programs.
