Clay/Chalk renders
Using the Chalk Render option under the Shaderlight presets, Shaderlight can produce clay 
renders (Fig. 25.7). As you learned earlier, clay renders have similar appearances to physical 
models. See Chapter 30 for specifics about using this feature.

Image-Based Lighting (hDrI)
Shaderlight includes several HDRI images. These images offer different lighting options so 
you won’t have to obtain or insert your own HDRI/IBL images. These settings are excellent 
alternatives to the Physical Sky lighting options in Shaderlight.
replaceMe
The ReplaceMe feature allows proxy object rendering. ReplaceMe enables you to link components 
in the model to components outside the model. For example, you can link a 2D tree component

in your model to a 3D tree in your Component Library. Shaderlight will render the linked 3D 
tree instead of the 2D version. This ability allows you to populate your model with simple, 
low-face-count objects and render them outside of SketchUp with high-face-count versions. 
This technique is ideal when you’re working with vegetation (Fig. 25.8, Fig. 25.9).
