Separating the Models
If your goal is to render a model to show exterior and simulated lights separately, create two 
individual models for each condition. Simulated lights used in a model rendering with exterior 
lighting can cause the render to take longer.
rendering by Scene
Turning off layers and associated details will speed up render times, as outlined in the 
Chapter 20. When you’re using simulated light, go a step further. After placing the lights, save 
a new version of the model based on a specific camera view. Then, open up the saved models 
and delete all of the geometry and detail that is not visible in the scene. This will help you 
further reduce render times.
adjusting postproduction
Using Photoshop or similar photo-editing software, you can adjust any simulated light 
renderings during the postproduction process. The method outlined in Part 7 adds light 
sources that lend flares to create the illusion of lightbulbs.
