From the stone and hunting age to the age of modern science, world has changed drastically and so have we. One thing has been the sole cause for this change which is so called technology. Today we believe it more than we have faith in human; we use it in every aspect of life and every part of our work. So, is it wise enough to say it is as good servant or a bad master?
Today , world is fully influenced by technology in every sector. It has been become a basic need of a man. Due to its diligence versatility, accuracy we don’t like to use our own mind, as result given by modern technologies is trustworthy. From hospitals to schools, agriculture to business technologies is widely used. Using technologies has become a part of our daily routine and inseparable part of our life. The work that can be done by the help of numerous labours can be done using computer technologies in fraction of second. So it has influenced the lifestyle,work style and reliability.
Critics argue that technology is essential virtue. Technology has made everything easier, faster and more comfortable. Using a click we can get to each corner of the world, it has made our world quite smaller. Today in every hospitals modern equipment like ECG, X-RAY machines are used to diagnosed every health problems. Education has been made easier using CBT and WBT with the help of modern technologies. We can connect, communicate and share ideas with our colleagues, mentors within limited time frames which seem impossible without these technologies. Any student or any child need not be an ignorant if he/she is getting facility to use these technologies as different research works and ideas have been put forward by experts and professionals on the internet. Beside, our life has become sophisticated by the use of modern technologies. We have been so connected to modern devices like mobiles, fans, ACs, refrigerator that our life seems impossible without it. The hard work and dedication of different experts have developed different modern technologies in upto twenty first century that we can’t imagine our life without it.
Unlike the advantages provided by modern technologies, critics also argue that technology is evil. Great scientist Albert Einstein has also stated “I don’t know what will happen in third world war but I’m pretty sure that forth world war will be fought by stones and logs.’
Not without a cause Einstein quoted it as today technology has developed so much that it even won’t take a minute to destroy our earth. The dark side of Hiroshima and Nagasaki has been still remaining on our minds and this was all caused due to those technologies. People innovates new ideas and shapes those ideas into reality but due to small mistake today world have become more conflictive and people have been come more furious. In the name of patriotism people have turned jingoist and xenophobic that today Syria is crying of pain due to nuclear weapons and chemical attacks and the rest are just an audience. Technology has left a lots of paths. Too much faith in technology has result in a great loss as today we can people’s bank account are being hacked and the properties are being collapsed. The wound that modern technologies have left seems it can’t simply be cured.
So, is the modern technology a boon or a bane? Well it totally depends upon how well an individual uses it but the facilities and influence of technology in modern life can’t be neglected. We have to keep one thing in mind. Technology didn’t give birth to human but human gave birth o technology. Although, technology has left a big question mark in real time work style of people, the use of modern technology is highly ubiquitous and praise worthy. So, to sum up , we can’t imagine our life without modern technologies but we can imagine a better life with the proper use of it to make our world an arena where people live, and works for mankind.
