At the beginning of February our university stated that one of our subjects would be online. Once a week we are to have our online course,doing a certain task and submitting it by deadline.

So, recently we, the students of MA,have been given a task to make a scientific poster on the theme that we had chosen for the Master's dissertation.

Until then, I had been thinking that I would write on "phraseological units ".

Therefore I got several books on the related theme from the library and started to collect some information. When I should have made my scientific poster, it turned out that I could choose another theme. For me that was very complicated to choose one. Because, first of all,there were only few themes remained to choose. From the other hand, I considered whether this subject had been researched much or not. Finally,I thought I found what I had been searching for.

Well, the title is " Cognitive and functional features of stylistic attractors in the English media texts ". Immediately I started to read,learn stylistics, especially stylistic devices. The more I read, the more I understood that I knew very little. Even I came across with stylistic devices, that I had never heard before.

As for my scientific poster, the most difficult point was finding examples to analyze. I could not just take examples from the books. I was to find them in media text. For hours I stayed up scanning newspapers to find something. Unfortunately, I found nothing worthy. Some days later it struck me that my approach was not correct. I said " I'd better take a fragment of some media text and analyze it to determine what attractors are used there. In this method I made up my scientific poster.

Still I continue learning how media texts are written and what forms authors of media text use to attract receivers. I will do my best this work to be done properly.
