Tiger usually grow to lengths of more than nine feet and can be bigger than the
largest lion. They have great strength. They clutch their prey to them, holding on
with their claws, and depend on the crushing bite of their powerful jaws. They swim
very well and can often be splashing about in water on very hot days, as they
apparently suffer from the heat. When the air is cool, however, they avoid wet or
damp vegetation. They can climb, but do not approach the leopard's ability in this.
They can survive in rocky areas but generally prefer to stay on level ground. They
are not as well equipped with senses as one might expect. They apparently depend on
their hearing while hunting. Their eyesight is not particularly good, and they cannot
spot prey until it moves.
121- It clear in the text that tigers ................. .
A) are the most talented climbers of all wild animals
B) rely heavily on their huge claws to catch their prey
C) closely take after lions as regards speed, size and strength
D) are sensitive to significant variations in climate
E) rely on their eyesight in finding and catching prey
122- As is expressed in the passage, a flat terrain ......................... .
A) provides camouflage for other wild animals
B) rather than rocky cliffs gives tigers better chances to hunt
C) usually has varied vegetation which shelters beter prey
D) is usually chilly, so tigers prefer higher levels
E) is usually the favoured place of the tiger
