Avicenna (Ibn Sina) (c. 980—1037) Abu 'Ali al-Husayn ibn Sina is better known in Europe by the Latinized name “Avicenna.” He is probably the most significant philosopher in the Islamic tradition and arguably the most influential philosopher of the pre-modern era.
His most famous works are The Book of Healing, a philosophical and scientific encyclopedia, and The Canon of Medicine, a medical encyclopedia^[13][14][15] which became a standard medical text at many medieval universities^[16] and remained in use as late as 1650.^[17]

    Abu Nasr Farabi. His life and biography.

Abu Nasr Al-Farabi was born in 870 in Farab city (now famous as Otrar), situated at the place of Aris river flowing into Syr Darya river. Very little is known of al-Fārābī’s life, and his ethnic origin is a matter of dispute. He was a famous early Islamic philosopher and jurist who wrote in the fields of political philosophy, metaphysics, ethics and logic. The main body of his knowledge is Abu Nasr. In Islamic philosophical tradition he was often called "the Second Teacher", following Aristotle who was known as "the First Teacher". Then he studied and worked in Bukhara, Samarqand, for a long period stayed in Baghdad that was cultural and political center of Arabian Caliphate. He eventually moved from Central Asia to Baghdad, where most of his works were written. There his great service to Islam was to take the Greek heritage, as it had become known to the Arabs, and show how it could be used to answer questions with which Muslims were struggling. Through his works, he became well-known in the West as well as the East. The last years of his life were spent in Cairo, Aleppo and Damascus enjoying a lot of appreciation. In Damascus in December, 950 eighty years-old al-Farabi passed away.
