  (OOP)

Object–oriented programming took the best ideas of structured programming

and  combined  them  with  several  new  concepts.  They  contain  variables  operated

on  by  instructions  written  in  sequence,  selection  and  loop  statements.  This

resulted in a different way of organizing a program. OOP does not allow data to

move freely between the functions. It binds the data to the function that operate

on it and protects it from being modified accidentally by outside functions.

The object–oriented approach is to combine both data and the functions that

operate on that data, into a single unit called an object.

A  C++  program  generally  consists  of  a  number  of  such  objects  which  can

communicate  with  each  other  through  the  member  functions.  i.e.,  functions

belonging  to  one  object  can  access  the  functions  of  another  object.  The

organization of an object–oriented program is as shown in figure 1.2
