ABSTRACT: The languages that are widely used in science, technology, art,
tourism, international communication, and international affairs are advanced
languages that have been embraced as a foreign language in today's world.
Teaching a language as a foreign language implies that the language is used not
only inside its own borders, but also with other nations and cultures, and that it be
studied more thoroughly in order to be recognized and taught effectively. This
thesis will explore various issues with the English language education process and
offer some suggestions for better alternatives.
KEYWORDS: skills, disturbed environments, resource, syllabus, time, games.
1.INTRODUCTION
Any society's growth and progress is powered by education. It is responsible for
developing human capital, which nurtures, drives, and establishes technical
innovation and economic progress, in addition to imparting information, skills, and
instilling values. The official language of the entire globe, English, is a difficult
language to teach. In truth, every language varies in terms of how it is taught.
According to Muhammad Adil (2020), instructors confront a variety of challenges
while teaching a language, including: 1. Disturbed Classroom Environment: In
studying and teaching English, the environment is the most important factor. The
majority of English instructors have to deal with environmental issues when
teaching the English language. Limited Teaching Resources: Teaching anything,
not only the English language, is heavily reliant on resources. 3. A big number of
students in the classroom: A huge number of kids in the classroom causes a lot of
disruption and stress for the instructors since they have to put in more effort and
labor to educate such a large number of students. 4. Incorrect syllabus to teach: A
syllabus is a type of content that teachers use to choose what to teach their pupils.
Syllabuses are extremely essential in the teaching of the english language, as well
as other topics. 5. Limited time for Lecture to teach: In learning the english
language, time is the most crucial factor. 6. Students Take over lessons: lessons are
taken over by students. The majority of students are uninterested in studying
english.
. 7. Students Disturbed the Class: Sometimes the students get bored and try to do
other activities during the lectures which disturbed the teachers during teaching the
English language. Moreover, students speak more of their native language than
English. The lower the students’ level or ages, the more probable it is that they will
speak their native language most of the time. Some will even chat in pairs or small
groups, completely oblivious to what is going on in class. Students are not ready to
start the class. The way the first few minutes of the class are spent can have a great
influence on how the lesson goes. Students can be slow to get out their equipment
and this can cause a lot of time wasting. To discourage this, start lessons with a
timed challenge. Tell students what you want them to do when they come into
class, e.g. sit down, take out their books and pencil cases, sit quietly ready for the
lesson to start. Time how long it takes for everyone to do this and make a note.
Each day do the same. Challenge students to do this faster every day. You could
provide a goal and offer a prize at the end of the trimester if they reach it, e.g. be
ready in less than a minute every day. One student in particular dominates the
lesson. This is the type of student is called “eager beaver”: they always raise their
hands first or just blurt out the answer with absolutely no regard for the other
students in the class. They are often competitive and like to win. Never call out an
eager beaver in front of the class. This enthusiasm should not be squashed; it
should simply be channeled in the right direction
2. MAIN PART
Teaching Through Games: Games are a kind of activity which engaged the
students mostly. It motivates the students to play and make fun of it. Games also
play a very important role in education and learning. There is a lot of educational
games which can be played in the classrooms with the students. Games help a lot
in building vocabulary. There is a game of placing the missing word in different
kinds of sentences. It builds the vocabulary a lot. Students understand the types of
words and its meaning and the structure of their placing in a sentence. According
to Douglas and Barry (2013), a factor faced in English language class is organized
and supportive environment. High quality environments are neat, organized, and
supportive. Teachers can provide an attitude of support by placing labels in the
child’s native language as well as English around the classroom. Additionally,
structuring the environment and the routines so they are predictable gives the ELL
an understanding of how tasks are to proceed and how to navigate the room. When
the environment is supportive and predictable the learners feel safe and can use
their cognitive energy to process content and language rather than focusing on the
environment.
3. CONCLUSION
To conclude, we counted some main issues of language teaching classes and the
solutions like games, planning the time, making competitions will help improving
effectiveness of the lesson.
