Resolutions
The most important parameters that define the characteris- tics of a remote sensing system are its resolutions. These define the level of detail of the products that it creates. Res- olutions depend on both the sensor and the platform as an single operative unit, and on the individual characteristics of each of them. Four resolutions can be defined:
• Spatial resolution. It indicates the size of the smaller object that can be distinguished. If the output is an im- age, the spatial resolution is the real size of the area represented by a single pixel.
