Primary and Secondary research on the music documentary Get Thrashed
Primary research
From my primary research I found out, that it was well received, mainly by people from 15-30 this covered three of the age groups I used.
the majority of the questionnaire participants where interested in documentaries and all of them where interested in Metal music, whether completely or partially listened to it.
80% of the questionnaire participants had previously seen a documentary by “The Metal Director” Sam Dunn most had seen Iron Maiden flight 666 or Metal Evolution but not a head bangers journey, of which only one or two had seen, all of the people said they found it enjoyable but only few said they found it informative but not enjoyable.
All of the questionnaires I got back said they would recommend the film they saw to a friend, this shows that Sam Dunn is a good director/producer of the heavy metal documentaries.
From the information gathered most said that Metallica and Megadeth are their favourite of The big Four, this is good as the majority of the documentary when talking about The Big Four was focused around Metallica and Megadeth, this shows Sam Dunn took the information gathered and showed this perfectly.
All the answers from the “Do you prefer American Thrash or European Thrash” said American, this again shows that Sam Dunn focused well on the information gathered and created a product for what people wanted to see.
For the final question there was a 50-50 reply half said that “NuMetal” should not have played such a big roll in this film as it has no relevance to the subgenre of Thrash Metal. The other half claimed that it may not have had anything to do with Thrash, however the other half said that even though it has no relevance to the genre of Thrash it does tie in to the genre of Metal and what became of it.

3 reviews where taken from Cd uniers, one positive, one negative and one passive.
Positive- “REAL DOCUMENTARY OF AN UNSTOPPABLE ERA!!!
FIRST OFF, THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE LAME UNAUTHORIZED DOCUMENTARIES ABOUT THE THRASH SCENE THAT GOES NOWHERE. THIS IS THE REAL DEAL, TOLD BY THE BANDS THEMSELVES. EVERYONE WHO WAS ANYONE DURING THIS ERA IS IN THIS FILM ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. IF YOU ARE A THRASH FAN, RENT THIS DVD”

Passive- “Ah, nostalgia
Very cool documentary on the birth of Thrash Metal. You won't learn much if you were lucky enough to be "there" when this incredible music movement began and reached it's peak in the 80s, but it's still cool to relive that important time in metal through the songs, interviews and mostly rare footage. If you are young or just getting into this style of music, then it's a good overview of the bands that laid the foundation and what it was like back in the scene in the mid-80s through the end of that decade. Much of the information comes from insights and stories told by the bands themselves, while current bands, such as Shadows Fall and Lamb of God, speak as fans and how the old thrash guard were big influences on them as they were growing up and decided to become metal musicians themselves. All I gotta say is "Thrash On!"”

Negative- “Get disappointed
Briefly- I was somewhat disappointed by this documentary after looking forward to its release. I thought the histories of the bands were glossed over. The most annoying part of the entire documentary was the inclusion of interviews with Corey Taylor and Sully Erna. What does either of these guys have to do with thrash? I though Rat Skate's Born the Basement was much better”
