Brief Description of Agency/Organization and its Purpose:
Habitat for Humanity is an international not-for-profit organization that builds houses in partnership with low-income families. The goal of Habitat for Humanity of Missoula is to eliminate poverty housing in our community. Low-income families help build a home that will become theirs for an affordable price.
Summary of Job:
“A picture is worth a thousand words.” Photographers for Habitat for Humanity of Missoula document our activities through photographs both at the build site and at any special events. Pictures tell our stories in very powerful ways. Habitat Photographers will help ensure pictures are taken for publicity, fundraising, volunteer and donor appreciation as well as other needs as they arise.

Qualifications:
Volunteers need not possess prior knowledge of Habitat. Inexperienced Habitat Photographers will be paired with an experienced Habitat Photographer for training if possible. Volunteers do need to be able to stand for short amounts of time and be comfortable and conscientious walking around the construction site. Sunny dispositions are always an asset when working with people.
Conditions of the job:
Job Starts: April 2015 Job Ends: November 2015
Schedule: Tuesdays through Saturdays
Time of Day: Flexible between 9:30 am and 3:00 PM
Minimum Commitment: One 2 hour shift Maximum Commitment: Open
Number of Volunteers Needed: Open
Location: We will be building on Latigo Dr. in the 44 Ranch Development off of Mullan Road.
We will provide map for volunteers.
Other Pertinent Information:
We are looking for a variety of people to serve as Habitat photographers, at least a couple times throughout the build season or more often if they choose. Photographers at the build site are encouraged to come mid morning and stay through lunch, or come for lunch and stay through mid afternoon. Build hours are 8:30 am -4 pm Tuesdays through Saturdays. Every Saturday is considered a Build Day, often with special groups scheduled. Groups also schedule throughout the week and photographers are needed on those days as well.
