ACTIVITIES OF THE UKRAINIAN NATIONAL BRANCH OF THE INTERNATIONAL 
WATERCOLOR SOCIALITY HEADED BY GALYNA OTCHYCH
 
Abstract.
The art and exhibition activities of modern representatives of the Ukrainian Watercolor School, in particular 
participants of the national Ukrainian branch of the International Watercolor Socielity, hereinafter IWS, were 
investigated. 
It was concluded that the perception of watercolor heritage' traditions of the National School of Watercolor, 
combined with integration of the latest influences and innovative approaches, creates a sustainable artistic plat-
form for the development and display of works of modern masters of dualists waterсolour technique. The prereq-
uisite for the creation of a shared vision, that are major external factor of influence, had become a creation of IWS 
Globe (2012, headed by A. Dogan) and, in particular, IWS Ukraine (2014, headed by L. Yashchun) which is a 
significant part of the global network of watercolor socielity. 
An attempt was made to define the specificity of online and offline exhibition activities of watercolorists of 
Ukrainian and foreign art schools. Events, symposiums, exhibitions, lectures, plenaries, master-classes, and all 
kinds of art projects starting at the initiative of the large-scale society IWS Globe, through integration in the field 
of general cultural processes has been establishing, and sometimes defining the boundaries of watercolor art in 
terms of transforming of modern realities. 
It has been stated that the Socielity promotes the popularization and development of international cooperation 
and networking, provides cultural and artistic support, and fosters a partnership of artists. At the same time, IWS 
leaders emphasize maximum tolerance of qualifications, age, religious, political, ethnic, or creative affiliation of
