Participants in the experiment were divided into two groups: (a) those who were 
already acquainted with Fontana's works, and (b) those who were exposed to his 
paintings for the first time. 
Only when subjects were viewing high-resolution digital images of the original 
artworks and not when they were viewing simplified versions did the amplitude drop. 
Importantly, earlier research revealed that when participants watched meaningless 
motions or hand grasping, the mu rhythm was suppressed on the same clusters of 
electrodes (Muthukumaraswamy & Johnson, 2004a, 2004b; Streltsova, Berchio, 
Gallese, & Umilta, 2010). (Babiloni et al., 2002; Streltsova et al., 2010). Together, 
these parallels imply that the viewer's brain decodes specific information about the 
artist's brushstrokes in the original artwork, whether deliberately or not.
The 
information theory states that the same encoding/decoding mechanism must be active 
in both the sender and the receiver for effective decoding of transferred information to 
take place. (Shannon, 1948). The nervous system's developmental principles are 
probably insufficient for encoding and/or decoding information that has been 
conditioned by culture. This procedure should also take into account contextual 
information and personal plasticity mechanisms. Numerous psychological studies on 
the processing of contextual information performed in Eastern Asia, Western Europe, 
and the United States lend support to the idea that individual plasticity and contextual 
information play a role in the encoding and decoding processes. According to 
behavioral studies, East Asians were more likely than Europeans and Americans to 
notice shifts in the context of
