4.13 Variants of usability testing methods
In general, there are two basic methods of usability testing in terms of obtaining
valid data. These are qualitative (generally the more common method suitable for
Usability Labs) and quantitative. The latter is suitable for automated testing.
4.14 Qualitative
For the purpose of a qualitative usability study (usually testing with experts), five
participants are sufficient (according to the Nielsen Norman Group) [1, 2, 21].
According to Nielsen, five participants will reveal 75% of UI bugs. Increasing the
