Conclusion
According the numbers of drug related deaths collected from the autopsy from Institute for Forensic
Medicine and Crime, Medical faculty in Skopje, the conclusion is that the number of deaths is gradually
increasing. In 2009 it was recorded the highest number of deaths so far. In Macedonia and the number
of drug-related deaths appears to have continuously increased among males, while the number among
the female population decreased.

Izvleček
Splošni zdravnik igra ključno vlogo v začetni prepoznavi in zdravljenju pri večini uroloških nujnih
stanjih. Neustrezna diagnoza in zdravljenje lahko vodijo v življenjsko ogrožajoča stanja. Pomembna je
prepoznava bolezenskih stanj, ki potrebujejo nujno obravnavo in zdravljenje (npr. akutno vnetje
obmodka – akutni epididimitis, tumorji testisa) ter stanj, ki potrebujejo urgentno obravnavo (npr. torzija
testisa, Fournierjeva gangrena), saj je zlasti pri slednjih izhod zdravljenja v tesni povezavi z časom do
pričetka ustreznega zdravljenja. Poudariti je potrebno, da so pri nujnih in urgentnih uroloških stanjih za
dokončno diagnozo poleg klinične ocene pogosto potrebne tudi dodatne laboratorijske in radiološke
preiskave.
Abstract
The primary care physician plays a key role in the diagnosis and initial management of most urologic
emergencies. It is critical to stratify patients into those who require urgent care (epididymitis) and those
who require emergent care (Fournier’s gangrene, testis torsion), because the time to therapy may
significantly impact on outcome between these two groups. Fortunately, most urologic emergencies
are precisely diagnosed with a combination of clinical acumen and appropriate radiologic or adjunctive
studies.
