Make a stop-motion animation
The standard frame rate for most smartphone cameras is approximately 30
frames per second, which gives you plenty of scope to construct some pretty
awesome stop-motion animations on Vine within its six-second video length
limit. This type of video can be extremely powerful and has been adored by
people since the dawn of cinema, through to the advent of children's television
and beyond to the current day. Vine's Ghost mode makes perfecting each frame
of your stop-motion animation much easier, too. Simply tap the little ghost icon
in the bottom-right corner of the app to see your last scene, which will be lightly
overlaid on your current view.
Make an infinite loop
All videos in Vine loop infinitely when played, so use this to your advantage to
create a video that rolls seamlessly. Instead of a video that ends abruptly (e.g. a
cat jumping off a table onto the floor), try to find a way to smoothly transition
the end of your video so that it naturally flows back to the beginning of the
looped video. What you'll end up with is a mesmerizing six-second advert for
your brand that viewers will want to watch over and over again.
Make a sound-only video
This tactic can be very effective, as it builds anticipation and forces your
audience to engage with your video and use their imaginations to figure out what
is happening. For example, you could have a black or white background with
nothing but the sound of footsteps approaching, the sound of a marching band or
the ticking of a clock - whatever you wish, really - followed by a mention or
image popping up of your brand and tagline.
 
Make a 360-degree video
One of the coolest-looking types of Vine videos is a 360-degree swoop around a
subject; it works great for showing off products, buildings and almost any other
inanimate object. To pull it off, place a small piece of sticky tape to your phone's
screen and mark it with a black dot. When recording, use this black dot as a
reference point to make one short recording, move to the next position, and

record again, as a way of making your circular path line up nice and level. To
add an extra layer of smoothness and stability to the production, strap your
camera to something like a glass tumbler or a toy car to act as a makeshift
camera dolly.
