research, and to promote interdisciplinary. Thus, when teaching learners and in order to
make them enjoy learning it is better to apply for problem-based method.
It is not always easy to use PBL method in classrooms, teacher meet some challenges
before they bring problems to their classes. According to Monica Fuglei in order to use PBL
method, teachers face mainly four types of obstacles:
1) finding authentic problems: before choosing it is important to make sure whether
the problem is connected to real-world situations in which students have a chance to give
their own solutions dependent on their own experiences. These discussions help ground PBL
in pedagogical soil—ensuring that students understand that PBL is both personally invented
and defined, but also deeply educational. It‘s all about real problems, real solutions and real
learning.
2) Confronting teacher's own lack of knowledge. One significant challenge to
preparing for PBL is ensuring students have proper research resources and are prepared to
do their own research and connect with mentors, educator Brianne Gidcumb suggests.
While it may be impossible to fully prepare for a PBL journey with students, Gidcumb says
that sincere problems that are justifiably connected to curricular outcomes can make
teachers more comfortable with the process. Sometimes it is enough for teachersto
understand that the journey is connected to curriculum.
3) getting up to speed on PBL: it is also significant to be educated on PBL. As it is
becoming progressively popular, not every school has a wealth of professional development
resources to provide that teachers are deeply educated in PBL. This should not stop
teachers since there are other ways to collect their own resources, consider alternative
methods of professional development including Twitter chats, message boards, or online
communities dedicated to PBL. PBL doesn‘t have to be lonely territory for instructors.
Teachers can explore the creation of instructional teams or other in-school connections. PBL
provides opportunities for work across disciplines, which gives teachers a chance to unite in
planning.
4) embracing effective failure: the potential for failure is not a disadvantage of PBL.
Students will not be able to design clear solutions to every problem they face. Industries
understand that failure is sometimes a piece of the process; schools should have the same
approach. Students need to understand that failure is not only accepted out there in the real
world: It‘s often a key part of the process.
Communicating the PBL method in classroom is the key to succeed in achieving
learners interests and develop their critical thinking. PBL is as an opportunity to unite real-
world issues with academic outcomes and standards and its goal is not examination and
perfection.
This article tried to outline the importance of problem-based learning in classrooms
and challenges that teachers face when they want to apply to bring in their classes. It is a
good way to get pupils' attention and urge them to think critically and find solutions and
compare with each other. In PBL method there is no winners and losers, so every student
have a chance to explore their opinions, solutions. But, it is also significant for teachers not
to lose hope or interest when they face challenges like lack of resources or knowledge,
