population regarding Cossack topics revealed a very moderate level of their (population) awareness on this
topic.
Presenting main material: Years of militant atheism, famine, and the destruction of the intelligentsia
in our country have led to historic oblivion, interrupted and destroyed many traditions that strengthened the
bond of generations, provided a life of sanctification through faithfulness to age-old customs, experiences,
aspirations, teachings. The objective regularity of the successful development of a prosperous society is the
return of lost values to the educational process of the individual [4]. In the wake of the formation of an
independent Ukrainian state and national uplift in the late 1980s, interest in the history and heritage of
Ukrainian Cossacks increased in Ukraine.
Awareness of the main population of the country about the Cossacks as such, about its history,
culture, traditions and way of life, according to the surveys of NGO "Kyiv Academy of Cossacks" [1; 3], is
extremely low. There are almost no centers promoting Cossack history, culture and life where people can
learn and follow Cossack traditions.
Many research organizations in Ukraine are engaged in research relating to various aspects of
Cossack history, but to date there are not enough Cossack culture and life centers to satisfy the mass interest
of ordinary citizens - those interested in the Cossacks, who treat themselves as Cossacks - to Cossack
history, culture and way of life. There are not enough centers for the promotion of scientific knowledge about
the Cossacks and the rich ethno-cultural heritage of this historical phenomenon. We consider it necessary
for every citizen of Ukraine, a potential Cossack descendant, to have a more detailed idea or even to know
the history of the Cossack phenomenon [1; 3].
In the wake of the rapidly growing interest in Cossack subjects, the NGO “Kyiv Academy of
Cossacks” (hereinafter referred to as KyAC) was created, bringing together highly professional specialists
in various fields of science and technology.
Within the framework of the main project of KJSC “Cossacks as a social status and ethno-cultural
community” has developed the following thematic subprojects in three directions:
1) scientific and educational - "
Kozatska Svіtlytsya
";
2) cultural and educational - “Cossack Leisure Club”;
3) ethno-cultural - "Bereginya of the Cossack Family’ School" [1; 2].
The proprietary names and content of the project and all its subprojects of the Kiev Academy of
Cossacks are protected in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine on intellectual property [1].
Taking into account the fact that one of the tasks of the Academy was the promotion of Cossack
heritage, the specialists formed the basic components of the concept of "Cossack ethno-cultural heritage", its
tangible and intangible components [1; 2; 3].
Kiev Academy of Cossacks constantly monitors the effectiveness of its educational activities. For
monitoring studies of our activities, we have optimized our questionnaires, which have been covered in all
our previous scientific publications [2; 3], which allows us to keep our hands on the pulse of the trends of
the modern transient world. The Academy’s experts analyzed the respondents' answers, reduced the
questionnaires and adapted them to the optimal level of perception of our respondents. Here is a new
author's questionnaire (authors: Voloshina A. L., Sychevskaya L. E., Oliynyk L. G.) "Research of interest in
Cossack topics" in full.
