Thermal energy storage
Thermal energy storage
includes technologies for collecting and
storing energy
for later use.
It may be employed to balance energy demand between day and nighttime. The thermal
reservoir may be maintained at a temperature above or below that of the ambient
environment. Applications include space heating, domestic or process hot water systems, or
generating electricity.
