change in percentage of the population aged 65 and above in three 
countries. 
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main 
features, and make comparisons where relevant.

MODULE ANSWERS 
 
The given table compares 3 nations, namely Canada, Germany, and the UK in terms of their 
percentage occupied by the elderly aging at least 65 years between 1988 and 2000, as well as 
their expected figures in 2030. 
Overall, it is evident that the popularity of at-least-65-year-aged citizens tends to expand 
over the period. Meanwhile, Germany was the country having the highest rate and is 
expected to maintain this rank in 2030. 
Turning into detail, starting at 20.45%, the number for Germany increased significantly to 
25.32% in 2000. A similar level of expansion was observed in that of Canada, which witnessed 
a substantial growth from 16.32% to 20.67% over the same period. By contrast, the figure 
for the UK was kept stable at approximately 14.2% in both years. 
Regarding to the predicted proportion in 2030, German residents aged 65 years and above 
are unveiled to account for 30.42% of the total population, ranking first among three nations. 
This will be followed by a 26.35-per-cent rate of Canada, which will be exactly 6 per cents 
higher than that of the UK.
