The surfaces composing the building roof are selected and converted into 
a component. The roof component is then placed on its own layer, 00 - Building Roof. 
The roof can then be turned off, allowing access into the model interior.

With the building roof off, solid colors are applied to the interior walls and 
floors. Several different colors are applied, differentiating the wall and floor materials to 
be added to the interior scenes.

The solid interior colors are swapped with texture images from the Texture Library.

One of the interior model wall textures is selected. A copy of the texture is made by first 
selecting the texture and then clicking on the Create Material button on the Paint Bucket. A new 
window opens, showing a duplicate of the material.

Using the HLS sliders (HSB on a Mac), the duplicate wall texture is adjusted 
from orange to green. The texture character remains the same, the only difference 
being the color of the material. The new material is then applied to various interior wall 
surfaces.

The yellow wall texture is selected to be edited in Photoshop. With the tex-
ture selected, the Edit in External Texture Button is clicked in the Paint Bucket menu.

Once the material is saved in Photoshop, it automatically updates in the 
SketchUp model and on all of the surfaces to which the texture is applied.

The yellow texture is edited in 
Photoshop. In this case, the color levels are 
adjusted, altering the texture appearance to a 
more muted, softer color. With the alteration 
complete, the material is saved.
