Rendering in SketchUp

1. 
In the mode, select the component to be replaced.
2. 
Go to Plugins and select Shaderlight for SketchUp

ReplaceMe Creator (Fig. 30.10).
3. 
The Replace Me Creator menu will appear. The name of the selected component will be 
listed (Fig. 30.11).

Check the ReplaceMe box.

Next to Source, click on the Browse button and navigate to the replacement component 
(Fig. 30.12).

Complete this process for all of the components to be replaced.

Return to Plugins

Shaderlight For SketchUp and select Enable ReplaceMe (Fig. 30.13). 
This will activate the Replace Me feature when you render.
8. 
Close the menu and start the render (Fig. 30.14).

Select the Browse button from ReplaceMe Creator, navigate to the location of the 3D plant, select the 
plant component, and click Open.
The size and number of faces of linked components will still affect the rendering process. 
For example, placing one hundred 2D trees in SketchUp and linking them with a 3D high poly-
count tree with many faces will impact the rendering times. Shaderlight will still need to 
process all the geometry in the detailed 3D trees.
Use layers with vegetation and keep your models organized, as discussed in Chapter 14.
