There are additional transparency finishes, including Thick_Glass, Frosted_Glass, and Liq-
uid. Experiment with these settings to learn how and when to apply them. Thin_Glass should 
work for most glass materials.
Water
Rendered water ranges from clear and transparent, to calm but reflective, to turbulent. To 
achieve those results, practice with these three approaches and settings.

Water Basin
If you want to model water, you’ll have to model the container holding the water—be it a 
pool, a cup, a lake, or a basin (Fig. 27.28). The sides and bottom provide context when you 
peer through the water. Use lighter colors for the container surfaces. Dark textures might 
overwhelm the water material. Place the water texture (surface) in the container, elevated 
above the bottom (Fig. 27.29).
