Physical Sky: Uses the SketchUp Shadow menu to set lighting. See Chapter 18.

Moofe: These preset image-based lighting (HDRI) options offered by Moofe are useful 
for exterior renderings. The menu includes a slider to adjust sun angle.

Custom: The Custom settings allow you to insert your own HDRI for lighting.

Artificial Lights Only: This setting will render only simulated lights in the model.

Auto Exposure and Exposure
The Lighting menu includes exposure 
settings. Regardless of which lighting 
option is used, you should not use Auto 
Exposure. Instead, you should learn to set 
and adjust Exposure manually (Fig. 26.11, 
Fig. 26.12).
You’ll learn more about Exposure settings 
for different lighting types in Chapter 29 
and Chapter 30.

Below are some basic sets of exposures to get you started. You should tweak the exposure 
level as you create draft renders. These are not set values but are intended to be adjusted up or 
down to achieve the best result. Each render will differ based on model type and the lighting 
option used.
