There are two options for constructing the profile:

Select the Build button. You can just build the profile and place it anywhere you like.

Build Along Path is similar to Follow Me. Select continuous edges and then click
on Build Along Path. The profile will be placed on the selected edges (Fig. 16.36, 
Fig. 16.37, Fig. 16.38).

Once the profile is constructed, an option will appear asking if you want to reverse the 
extrusion along the path. If the profile is not correctly positioned or you want to adjust 
the Placement Point, select Yes.

Chris Fulmer tools
Chris Fulmer (landscape architect, SketchUp user, and Ruby Script writer) created an 
excellent Ruby Script to randomize the rotation and size of components. It is an excellent 
script for creating irregular planting plants filled with rotated and scaled vegetation. With the 
Ruby Script you can enter specific parameters to control the amount of rotation and scale for 
selected vegetation (Fig. 16.39, Fig. 16.40).
extrude edges by rail
The Extrude Edges Ruby Script is a powerful set of free tools that allows you to generate 
complex, organic forms. They are ideal for creating billowing canopies, complex building 
structures, and fluid curvy furnishings. The Extrude Ruby allows you to create these shapes 
using several different tools. If you want to learn to use the scripts, check out the post on 
SketchUcation about the tool itself (Fig. 16.41, Fig. 16.42).
