part of the network of ecotourism. [2]
According to the information of the United Nations and WTO, in the last 20 years
only in developing countries the number of tourists has increased significantly and the
income is growing from year to year.
For example, every year small countries such as Kenya earn 1,400, Ecuador-
1180, Costa Rica-1140, Nepal-1550 million US dollars annually.
At the same time, it should be specially noted that in these countries, the income
received from ecotourism is 70-80% of the GDP of the whole country.
In Canada, the total amount of tourism in the bosom of the wild is 25% of the total
domestic tourism. The government of Canada, only through taxes in the field of
ecotourism, receives an income of $ 1.7 billion. USA. Thus, ecotourism makes a great
contribution to the implementation of conservation measures and provides significant
financial support for their full implementation. [1] The potential of ecotourism in our
country is very high and there are all opportunities for its development.
In our country there are unique nature, landscapes (steppes, deserts, mountains,
plateaus) attractive for eco tourists, various rare flora and fauna, unique archaeological
finds of world importance, paleontological remains, rare geological deposits, numerous
natural monuments.

The nature of Uzbekistan is marked by a rich flora and fauna. The fauna of our
republic consists of 97 species of herbivores, 424 species of birds, 58 species of reptiles
and 83 species of fish.[2] Of these, 24 species of herbivorous, 48 ornithological species,
10 species of reptiles, 18 species of fish and 78 species of invertebrates have been
included in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan.[2]
According to information provided by the Institute of Botany of the Academy of
Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, there are more than 4100 plant species in the
country.
Of these, more than 3000 are the highest wild-growing, and 9% are endemic
plants. One of the factors of ecological stability in Uzbekistan is the ecosystem that has
not undergone a strong anthropogenic impact and has preserved the possibility of self-
recovery. The main of the effective ways to preserve the natural habitat of flora and
fauna is the organization of the OPT.
Some of the protected areas of Uzbekistan are of global importance in preserving
the world natural heritage. In Uzbekistan, the system of protected natural areas covers
5.57% of the country's area and consists of 9 state reserves, 2 national parks, 9 reserves
and 2 state nature monuments. [1]
To date, Uzbekistan has demonstrated to the whole world its warm embrace,
becoming a fairly developed tourist center of the region, many thousands of foreign
citizens have already recognized and visited historical sites of interest to tourists. The
location is the factor that contributes to the development of ecotourism in our country.
Situated in the middle of Central Asia, Uzbekistan has many different transport
and communication systems in the transport area convenient for the development of
ecotourism, and also occupies one of the first places in its potential for the development
of international tourism.
Uzbekistan occupies a leading position on environmental tourism among the
countries of Central Asia. Such diversity of animal and plant life, originality of the
landscape, contrast of natural areas, ethno-cultural rituals, songs, dances and national
cuisine, united in one place, can be found only in the few corners of the planet. Great
popularity among Uzbek and foreign tourists enjoy trekking in the desert and
mountains, rafting, diving, camel, horse, hiking and the so-called Hilly Sky.
Especially distinguished are unique natural areas known throughout the world,
including the Zaaminsky People's Park and the Ugam-Chatkal State Nature Park.
Within the framework of the concept of ecotourism development in Uzbekistan, a lot
of work is being done to revive nature and ensure the stability of the ecological situation
in the Aydar-Arnasai lakes system, Ugam-Chatkal recreational zone, Charvak resort
zone.
Over the past years, hundreds of tourist routes have been established across all
regions of Uzbekistan, thousands of cultural monuments, architecture and unique
natural places have been restored, of which there are more than four thousand in the
republic, and more than 140 of them are under the protection of UNESCO.
Ecotourism is not only the rational use of nature in our country, familiarization of
foreign tourists with the landscape, the unique and rich animal and vegetable world of
our country, the establishment of friendly ties between peoples, mutual and wider
familiarization of countries and peoples, but also the preparation and implementation

of projects with the aim of conservation and reproduction of rare endangered species
of animals and plants in the reserves (Surkhan, Nurata, Gissar, Badai-Tugai, Zarafshan,
Kyzylkum, Chatkal, Zaamin, Kitab), nurseries (Ecocenter "Sayran" farm) to create
national nature parks around them according to international standards, and through
their implementation of attracting foreign investments to create a material and technical
base for ecotourism facilities in protected areas. Ecotourism is currently a relatively
new phenomenon. To promote it, the formation of a new public culture in the behavior
of citizens, consumers in order to develop ecotourism is required.
So far, there are no information resources that can give a complete picture of
ecotourism and the organizations that provide ecotourism.
Maps, charts, information bases and portals are available only to a limited number
of users, and often do not exist at all.
There is no serious and thorough propaganda of ecotourism as one of the
components of ecological behavior.
There are many problems of development of ecotourism in Uzbekistan, but most of
them can be overcome.
It is necessary to invest in the development of infrastructure, training qualified
personnel (guides, guides, environmental guides), addressing the lack of information
about the country as a whole, certain regions and the opportunities for tourism in them.
So far, even in Tashkent, the capital of the country, there is not one tourist
information center, where local and foreign tourists could turn for necessary
information and reference materials.
There are no specialized publications and sites on this subject. Therefore, the
issues of quality information and environmental education deserve special attention.
The promotion of ecotourism in the mass media is of great importance for
attracting attention and increasing interest in ecological tourism. More and more we
see in the news, in magazines articles and essays on environmental tourism, a large
amount of information on the Internet.
Many travel media companies have picked up the growing wave of interest of the
audience to ecological tourism, hurried to make special headings. However, in most
cases, for the time being nothing is worth it.
Among the population, too, in most cases, the misunderstanding of the question
prevails. Therefore, it is necessary to raise awareness of this area of tourist services.
To promote such a specific tourist product requires effective marketing.
In order to develop and promote the ecotourism opportunities of the country,
increase the ecological culture of the population, attract foreign tourists and citizens of
the Republic of Uzbekistan to nature, the unique flora and fauna of Uzbekistan, the
Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan and the National Company "Uzbek tourism" in
November this year, an organization specializing in development Ecotourism in our
country - OOO EKOSARBON. There are many things in Uzbekistan that can attract
tourists from abroad and that it will be interesting for the Uzbek people themselves -
beautiful nature, architectural monuments, rich history. [2]
The main thing is to use it effectively and propagandize, without damage to the
environment. We are sure that the full and timely implementation of these factors,
188
measures and actions, the Republic of Uzbekistan will take its worthy place in the
world among countries with developed ecological tourism.
The development of ecotourism in Uzbekistan will make a huge contribution not
only to preserving science, culture, education, nature, addressing issues of attracting
eco tourists to our nature, preserving and increasing the world of rare animal plants,
but also in addressing economic issues - improving the social conditions of the local
population, providing them with jobs, as well as raising and making a certain financial
contribution to the economy of our Motherland.
