ZULFIA 
Zulfia is a well-known Uzbek poetess, translator and public figure. Zulfia is a real representative 
of Uzbek women. Zulfia was born in 1915 in a large and poor family. At the age of 7 she went to 
school and got an elementary education. To be a teacher was her aim, so in 1939 she began to 
study at the Women's Pedagogical School. Zulfia literary carrier began with the publication of 
the collections of verses called "The Pages of Life" (1932), "The Songs of Girls" and "Poetry" 
(1939). Since that time she published many collections of verses. Among them we can name her 
famous poem "Mushoira". Zulfia is known to be a good translator too. She translated into Uzbek 
the works of Pushkin, Lermontov, Nekrasov, Shevchenko and many other Russian poets. The
