Materials and Preparation: 12 Laminated size A4 sheets of paper. Each sheet has the name of a month written in English and a
number. For example: January would have the number one under it and May would have the
number 5 under it. Magnets or tape will be needed to secure them to the chalkboard in the
classroom. The flashcards will be used before and during the game.
Division of Labour for ALT and JTE: The JTL is in charge of giving the JET access to any and all office supplies that the JET will need to
make the flashcards. During the lesson the JET is responsible for helping students pronounce the
words and the JTL is responsible for checking the students comprehension of the activity and
provide any Japanese translation if needed and the JTL is in charge of classroom behavior
management. Both the JTL and JET can take turns in running the game after the vocabulary has
been practiced.
