take place.)

sees its shadow on this day, the cold weather will continue 

for six weeks.)

d)  14th July (It celebrates the locals in Paris attacking the 

Bastille, a prison, in 1789. There are military parades.)

e)  1st April (People often play tricks on each other.)

f)  29th April (It celebrates the Emperor’s birthday and begins a 

week of festivals called Golden Week.)

g)  1st November (People visit the graves of their families and 

also build and fly kites.)
