Active Voice versus Passive Voices
In an active voice, the subject acts upon the verb. However, in a passive
voice, the subject receives the action of the verb. When the passive voice is
used properly, it is correct. However, when it is not used in moderation, it
becomes weak and incorrect.
Examples of Active Voice:
Monkeys love bananas.
The dog tossed the bone away.
Examples of Passive Voice:
Bananas are loved by monkeys.
The bone was tossed away by the dog.
