Section 77d
1. The period of limitation of the right to institute criminal proceedings, referred to in section 70, shall
be reduced for serious offences by one half of the term referred to in that section.
2. Subsection (1) shall not apply to serious offences defined in sections 240b, 242 to 250 inclusive
and 273f, committed against a person who had not yet reached the age of eighteen years by a
person who had reached the age of sixteen years at the time of the commission of the criminal
offence.
3. The right to institute criminal proceedings for serious offences carrying a term of life imprisonment
shall be precluded upon lapse of a period of limitation of twenty years.
