INTRODUCTION (abstract of PhD dissertation) 
The aim of the research is to obtain modified sulfur based on 
crotonaldehyde, improve its properties and develop a technology for producing 
sulfur concretes based on them. 
The object of research are synthesized compounds based on sulfur and 
crotonaldehyde and by-products of the chemical industry. 
The scientific novelty of the research
is as follows:  
determined high deformation-strength and adhesive and physicochemical 
properties of modified sulfur, obtained modified sulfur based on crotonic aldehyde; 
determined the physicochemical, physicomechanical properties and resistance 
to aggressive environments of the developed modified sulfur concretes to replace 
Portland cement; 
it has been proven that the presence of 10-25% by weight of insoluble polymer 
parts in relation to sulfur leads to an improvement in the operational properties of 
modified sulfur concrete, resistant to atmospheric and aggressive environments and 
having high strength characteristics in compression; 
the technology has been developed for obtaining modified sulfur and sulfur 
concrete with improved physical and mechanical properties due to chemical 
transformations.
