It is very important to choose the correct methodological approach to the classification of  soil 
amelioration mea sures.
All amelioration measures known in Ukraine to date are grouped into three hierarchical levels 
termed as follows: the highest level – the Groups, the intermediate level – the Types and the lowest 
level – the Techniques of  amelioration (Table 4.1).
